I've had treatments before somewhere else, will I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes, every patient, regardless of past treatment history with have a consultation. Some patients may be able to have a consultation and treatment during the same visit, while certain procedures require a separate visit.

A consultation gives us an opportunity to discuss your goals, review your medical and treatment history, evaluate the areas you would like to address and determine which options are appropriate for you.

How do I know which aesthetic treatment is right for me?

You don't need to know before you come in.

Many aesthetic concerns can be approached in several different ways. During your consultation, we can discuss what bothers you, evaluate your skin and facial anatomy, and explain which treatments may—or may not—help you reach your goals.

Our goal is to recommend treatment based on what you actually need rather than simply choosing a procedure from a menu.

Can I have more than one aesthetic treatment?

Yes. Different treatments address different aspects of aging and skin health, so a combination approach is often appropriate.

For example, one treatment may address muscle movement while another restores volume, improves skin quality, treats discoloration or helps tighten the skin. When multiple treatments are recommended, we can help you determine the appropriate sequence and timing.

Do you offer natural-looking results?

Yes. Our approach to aesthetic treatment emphasizes balance, facial anatomy and results that complement your existing features.

The goal is not to make every patient look the same or to eliminate every sign of aging. Treatment is planned according to your individual anatomy and the outcome you would like to achieve.

Is the person who does the consultation the person who does the treatments?

Yes. Our aesthetic medical expert, Savy Guthrie, MPAS, PA-C, has been with us since 2006.

At Kessel Dermatology, aesthetic care is provided within a dermatology practice, with an emphasis on appropriate patient selection, anatomy, safety and individualized treatment planning.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We offer financing through Cherry, which allows eligible patients to divide the cost of treatment into manageable payments.

Financing is subject to Cherry's approval and terms.

Does insurance cover aesthetic treatments?

Cosmetic treatments are generally considered elective and are not covered by medical insurance.

How much do aesthetic treatments cost?

Pricing varies depending on the treatment, treatment area and amount of product or number of sessions needed.

Because aesthetic treatment is individualized, we can provide more specific pricing once we understand your goals and determine what treatment is appropriate for you.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on the procedure and what you are trying to achieve.

Some treatments can produce noticeable improvement after a single visit, while others are designed as a series. Certain treatments also require periodic maintenance to preserve results.

Your recommended treatment schedule will be discussed during your consultation.

Is there downtime after aesthetic treatment?

Downtime varies considerably by procedure.

Some treatments require little or no interruption to normal activities, while others may cause temporary redness, swelling, bruising, peeling or other visible changes while the skin heals.

We will review expected recovery and aftercare with you before your procedure so you can plan accordingly.

Can I schedule treatment before a wedding, vacation or special event?

Yes, but planning ahead is important.

Different procedures have different timelines for swelling, bruising, healing and development of final results. If you have an important event coming up, let us know when you schedule your appointment so we can recommend an appropriate treatment timeline.

How do I schedule an aesthetic appointment?

You can schedule by calling 609-890-2600 or by using our online booking system.

If you're unsure which treatment to book, schedule an aesthetic consultation and we can help determine the best options for your concerns.
