I have been coming to Kessel Dermatology for many years. Dr Kessel is an excellent Dr and his entire staff is so friendly and efficient from the reception staff to radiation and beyond. Randy and Jade make you forget why you are getting treatment with their friendly kind personalities. All Dr offices should be so nice.

Thorough examination

I made an appointment for the simple matter of removing two small growths. Mr. White was quite pleasant, professional and efficient as he was in a previous visit. I would certainly have him attend to me again.

First time patient very crowded the day of my appointment but it was worth the wait. Dr Kessel checked everything out for me with the exam and took a sample of something on my left leg. I will be going back I like the office and staff, and Dr. Kessel is very organized and precise. Very good experience.

M husband and I see Joe every six months for a full body check. He is always professional and knowledgeable answering any questions or concerns we may have. Left eye droop after Botox. After another visit back, I was prescribed eye drops which were not covered by insurance. I asked for reimbursement for both the visit and the eye drops, but they made me feel that it was my fault for the eye droop. No one took accountability for the botched service and there were no compensations and no apologies. Never going back there and I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Have been going to Joe for years... He is the best. About a year ago he found some cancer on the back of my left hand and had it removed. (he did not do the removal) I was concerned about the area where it was removed. Never really healed properly. Went to Joe couple days ago and he took another specimen. Waiting for the results.

I had a late in day appointment and to me it seemed he was in a hurry to get out of the office, I guess he checked me thoroughly, tho it seemed fast and rushed. He told me all were benign even I told him my wife noticed changes in a couple of my moles. He didn’t offer me an option to get them removed and have biopsied. All in sll all a bit disappointed in visit.

I had a great experience from the moment I arrived. Dr. Kessel and his staff took wonderful care of me. Dr. Kessel took all the time needed to explain my treatment options in detail and answer all of my questions. Exceptional!

As always Melissa is amazing. I was discharged today for my hair shedding problem which was diagnosed about 9 months ago. After seeing Melissa 4 or 5 times she has my problem under control and I am growing new hair. She also addressed any skin abnormalities at each visit.

I hesitated to make an appointment with a specialist, but my son has had a growth on his leg for months so I wanted to get it checked out. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. We sat in the waiting room for over 20 minutes and when we were seen, we were given the bare minimum of information. No instructions on what to do about the growth, no suggestions, just one word answers when I asked a question. And I had to keep asking questions because the doctor treated us like we should know what this is. I would have thought at the very least he would give us his opinion on how to treat it or provide an ointment. Something… but it seemed like he just wanted to rush us out the door. It was a waste of an expensive copay.

My son broke out with a rash from head to toe and Dr. Alena Otero was not only very patient with my 1 1/2 year old but she went above and beyond to try to get us answers as to what caused it. What started out as a request to remove a painful skin tag turned out to be a nasty tick removal - surprising both of us. Alena did a great job removing it & put me on antibiotics for Lyme disease.

Overall dealing with Dr. Kessel is always great. He is thorough, professional, knows his stuff. Only one concern, was - he did a biopsy of something suspicious on my left leg. However, I never received a f/u call on the results of that biopsy. I called 9 days later to get the results.

Personable, quick, thorough.

Seemed knowledgable in the field, but seemed very dismissive in my expressed concerns mentioned in the visit. No patient summary provided even after asking the assistant. Was told to review the instructions on the prescription. The prescription only addressed one out of the three concerns. I was told no follow-up appointment needed. As a medical professional myself, I decided to seek a second opinion with another dermatologist and was seen a week after my appointment with Dr. Kessel. I felt heard at the second dermatologist. My biggest concern was addressed at the appointment with an injection where Dr. Kessel said there is nothing that needs to be done despite me informing him of rapid inflammation to the site. My other two concerns were also addressed. Two follow-up appointments were scheduled to check on two of the concerns. The third concern did not require a follow-up appointment, but was given instructions to mitigate it. I left the second dermatologist feeling cared after opposed to leaving Dr. Kessel’s appointment feeling rushed and misinformed.

An exceptional practitioner: thorough and personable - he is an asset to your office.

If it wasn’t for her, my lupus diagnosis wouldn’t have happened so quickly. She ordered immediate bloodwork and biopsy’s and referred me to a wonderful rheumatologist and my treat started ASAP! I owe her my life, literally!!

This was my annual skin check up, have not been at this office in 5 years. Mr. White came in to the room with an assistant, after I disrobed and had my robe on ready for examination, they did not introduce themselves, asked me general questions if I had any issues with my skin, proceeded with the examination, told me everything was good, see you in a year. My experience was very cold welcoming especially since I had not been there in 5 years!! I had to go on the website to find out which doctor had examined me that day. Will most likely not return here again.
